Iran Critiques Western Arms Supplies to Ukraine as Indicative of Conflict Resolution Reluctance

11 March

The official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanani, has criticized Western countries for their arms deliveries to Ukraine, suggesting that these actions reflect a reluctance to contribute to the resolution of the conflict. This statement was reported by Tasnim news agency.

"From the onset of this crisis, we have consistently advocated for a political solution and expressed our willingness to mediate and assist in bringing an end to this war. Regrettably, the current situation seems to be exacerbating the conflict rather than resolving it. The provision of weapons by Western countries indicates a lack of willingness to help in resolving the crisis," Kanani was quoted as saying.

Iran has previously emphasized its readiness to mediate the Ukrainian crisis. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has noted that the supply of weapons to Ukraine by Western countries extends the conflict rather than bringing it to a close.
