The Iranian military launched ballistic missiles from the ground during the exercise, Tasnim news agency reported.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, part of the armed forces of Iran) has begun the final stage of maneuvers in the Persian Gulf and the Western part of the Strait of Hormuz under the code name "Great prophet – 14" with the participation of naval and aerospace forces.

According to the agency, the Iranian military successfully launched ballistic missiles from launchers located underground during the second day of the exercise, which started on Wednesday.

During the exercise, the Iranian armed forces received data for the first time from the Nur satellite, Iran's first military satellite, which was launched into orbit in April this year.

In addition, the day before it was reported that Iran also worked out an attack on an American aircraft carrier, using a mock-up of the ship for this purpose. The IRGC commander Hossein Salami also commented on the exercises, saying that Tehran's policy and strategy are aimed at protecting its vital interests and are defensive in nature. However, he added, the tactical dimension in the event of an encroachment by the enemy also provides for offensive actions, which were practiced, including during maneuvers.
