Iran named a condition for returning to the nuclear deal

04 August 2022

Iran is ready to return to full implementation of its obligations under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the nuclear program (JCPOA) when the US provides guarantees of implementation of all economic provisions of this agreement, a representative of the Iranian delegation to the Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons said.

"Since April 2021, Iran has been negotiating in good faith with all parties to the JCPOA for its full resumption. This goal has been delayed because the US is still unable to provide guarantees to Iran regarding the economic benefits enshrined in the agreement. When the US makes the right decision, Iran will in turn return to full compliance with its nuclear commitments under the JCPOA," he said.
