In Iran, Russian Presidential Aide Igor Levitin was offered to create joint institutions to combat sanctions of Western countries.

During talks with Levitin, Secretary General of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani said it was necessary to speed up the implementation of joint economic projects between the two countries and create joint institutions to combat sanctions by Western countries.

According to him, as quoted by Fars agency, to this end, it is also necessary to "activate the international potential" of the countries subject to Western repressions.

He added that Iran and Russia are strengthening economic ties toward a strategic partnership.

"With serious will and continuous efforts by officials of the two countries, economic cooperation between Iran and Russia will follow the path of strategic partnerships," Shamkhani said.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with his Iranian counterpart Ibrahim Raisi the issues of the Russian-Iranian agenda with a focus on further increasing the complex of bilateral cooperation, the Kremlin press service reported.
