Iran's Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Maryam Jalali has suggested the establishment of a working group aimed at eliminating visa requirements between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
The proposal was made on the sidelines of the World Tourism Organization meeting hosted in Saudi Arabia.
Jalali conveyed a message from Iran's Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Ezzatollah Zarghami to Sultan AlMusallam, Director General of International Affairs at the Saudi Ministry of Tourism. Jalali stated, "The message included an invitation for Mr. AlMusallam to visit Iran."
Additionally, she noted that they had put forth the idea of forming a working group dedicated to the mutual abolition of visas between the two countries, without providing further details about the agreement.
