Iran will not give up its presence in the region and its peaceful nuclear program as the two main determinants of national power, Iranian spiritual leader Ali Khamenei said on Thursday at a meeting with members of the Islamic Republic's Council of Experts.
"It is vital for any country to have national power," Khamenei was quoted as saying by Press TV. - <...> "The basis of national power is security and defense power, as well as economy, national prosperity and secured existence, the ability to secure national interests on the regional and global front through political maneuvering and negotiations.
