Acting Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani has called on the European Union to pressure Israel to halt its escalation of tensions in the Middle East. This request was made during a telephone conversation with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell.
In a statement from the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Bagheri Kani “emphasized that the EU, in its role to maintain international peace and security, should exert pressure on the Zionist regime (Israel — TASS note) to prevent its further crimes”.
