The Astana format on Syria is important to preserve, said the Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali.
"We think that the preservation of the Astana format is very important. Although from time to time there are disagreements, within the framework of the Astana format, they need to be settled and eliminated", Jalali said. - "And try to ensure that Syria, with the help of the guarantor countries, I mean Iran, Russia and Turkey, and within the framework of the Constitutional Committee, can achieve stability".
The diplomat also added that Russia and Iran are fighting terrorists and have proven this in practice. "Yes, the US has created a coalition, but let's see - did this coalition save at least one village in Syria? Let them show proofs and documents...", Jalali said. - "We must fight terrorists in a radical way". According to the Ambassador, the Syrian people must decide their own fate.
