Iranian Ambassador: Tehran is grateful to Moscow for its help in fighting the pandemic

Tehran is grateful to Moscow for its assistance in fighting the spread of new coronavirus infection, the Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali said "Mnenie" ("Opinion") program, a fragment of which was shown on Monday on the TV channel "Russia-24".


"The people and government of Russia have shown that they stand in solidarity with the people and government of Iran. And we are grateful for the help given to us to fight the coronavirus. We are also grateful to Mr Putin for raising the issue of creating a "green corridor" through which grain and food can be delivered to us. This is a truly humane view that stands up to the arrogant, " he said.


Russian and Iranian presidents Vladimir Putin and Hassan Rouhani have agreed to direct contacts between the two countries ' Health Ministries to fight the coronavirus. According to the Iranian diplomatic mission, Russia not only provided medical assistance to Iran, but also took a friendly position with regard to American sanctions, advocating their cancellation, in particular, in the current conditions of the spread of the coronavirus.
