Russia Halal Market, an international fair of halal products, opened on Wednesday in the Kazan agro-industrial park. Producers of textiles from Senegal, beverages from Iran and confectionary products from Turkey are taking part in the fair, a TASS correspondent reported from the opening ceremony.
"This event is the first one in the framework of our forum [International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum 2023"]. <...> There are more than 20 million Muslims living in Russia today. It's not surprising that in almost all sectors of the economy the halal industry is actively developing. In our republic alone there are more than 100 producers of Halal food products. It is pleasant that these products are actively exported to neighboring and far-abroad countries", said Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov at the opening ceremony.
Participants of the fair also include producers of halal products from other countries, so guests of the fair can buy beverages, confectionery, seafood from Iran, sweets from Turkey and textile from Senegal. Moreover, natural beverages made of grapes, tea products, meat and dairy products, national costumes, souvenirs, etc. are presented at the fair.
Deputy Director General of the Department of Islamic Development of Malaysia Sirajuddin Suhaimi, speaking at the opening, said that the country is ready to share its experience with participants in the halal market of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Russian Federation. "We will share our experience, and I am sure that these developments will benefit the Russian halal industry, and it will take its rightful big place in the world. I am sure that there is a huge number of products and ingredients, certified according to halal standard, which can be exported from Russia to the world markets," Suhaimi said.
The fair will be held on May 17-21 on the territory of the Kazan agro-industrial park. The XIV International Economic Forum "Russia-Islamic world: KazanForum 2023" will be held on May 18-20, 2023 in Kazan Expo.
