The positions of Russia and China at the talks on the return to the nuclear deal in Vienna look constructive, while the Western participants have not made any worthwhile proposals, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said on Thursday during telephone talks with EU diplomatic chief Josep Borrell.
"So far, we have not received any constructive and forward-looking proposals from the opposite side, and this contradicts their statements of seriousness in the negotiations," he said. The press service of the Iranian Foreign Ministry notes that the diplomat said these words "criticizing the continuing inaction of the West in the course of the Vienna dialogue."
The Iranian Foreign Minister reportedly "criticized the positions and statements of three European countries <...>, calling them destructive." "This factor complicates and slows down the process of reaching an agreement," he said.
Amir Abdollahian, referring to the consultations that took place, noted that "the positions of China and Russia are realistic and constructive." He also said that "a delegation of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran went to Vienna to meet and negotiate with representatives of the IAEA".
Earlier, the delegation of the European Union to the international organizations in the Austrian capital said that a new meeting of the joint commission of Iran and the international "five" (Russia, Britain, Germany, China and France) on the restoration of the nuclear deal will be held on December 9.
