Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky's "obscene remarks" regarding the Islamic republic, which he made during a speech at the US Congress. A statement to this effect was published on Thursday by the republic's foreign ministry.

According to the text, the Iranian diplomat "condemned the repeated accusations and obscene statements of the Ukrainian president in the US Congress" against Tehran. "Once again, it is emphasized that Iran has not supplied any military equipment to either side for use in the conflict in Ukraine," it said.

"We have always respected the territorial integrity of countries, including Ukraine, and Mr. Zelensky should know that Iran's strategic patience with baseless accusations will not be unlimited," said a spokesman for the Iranian foreign ministry. - "Mr. Zelensky should learn lessons from the fate of some of the leaders of those countries that enjoyed American support."

On December 21, Zelensky spent several hours in Washington, D.C. at the invitation of US President Joe Biden. There he met with Biden and the Congress leadership and made a speech. Zelensky's visit to the United States was timed to coincide with the announcement of a new package of US military aid worth $1.85 billion, which included the Patriot air defense battery, consisting of the launch system on a truck chassis, the radar, and the control station.

In August, The Washington Post published an article claiming that Iran was supplying Russia with drones. Subsequently, similar statements were made by US administration officials. Moscow and Tehran have repeatedly denied allegations of Iranian drones being delivered to Russia for use in Ukraine. Russian President's spokesman Dmitry Peskov called such reports fake and stressed that the Russian army uses domestically produced drones.
