Iranian Foreign Ministry: Trump’s Letter to Khamenei Doesn’t Differ Much from His Public Rhetoric

17 March

The key points of the letter sent by US President Donald Trump to Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei do not significantly differ from Trump's public rhetoric, according to Esmail Baghaei, the official spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry.

"As of now, we see no reason to disclose Trump’s letter. Everything published in the media about this letter is speculation and has no basis. Considering Trump’s public statements, the content of this letter is not much different from them," the diplomat stated at a press conference broadcast live by SNN TV.

According to Baghaei, Tehran will respond to the letter after completing all necessary consultations and discussions.

On March 7, Trump wrote on his Truth Social page that he had sent a message to Khamenei proposing negotiations on Tehran's nuclear program. The Iranian leader, commenting on Trump's statement, emphasized that Iran would not engage in dialogue with the US because Washington is only concerned with its own interests. On March 12, Khamenei called Trump’s remarks about willingness to negotiate a deception aimed at global public opinion.
