16 August 2023

The creation of collaborative airlines has become imperative for Russia and Iran in order to significantly increase the frequency of flights connecting the two nations, stated Iranian Ambassador to Moscow  Kazem Jalali in an interview with Izvestia.

"Another area of cooperation in the aviation sector involves the establishment of joint aviation companies. If we intend to boost tourist flow between our nations, creating joint airlines is certainly a requirement," - the diplomat affirmed. - "Currently, the number of flights between our countries is limited and needs to be significantly increased. This expansion is not confined to just Moscow and Tehran, even though there is also a relatively low number of flights between our capitals."

The visa-free group tourist exchange between Russia and Iran was initiated on August 1, as part of their collaboration efforts.
