Iran's Foreign Minister Believes Israel Failed to Achieve Goals in Gaza Strip

15 March

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian has expressed the belief that Israel failed to achieve any of its stated goals during the military operation in the Gaza Strip.

"The Zionist regime (meaning Israel - TASS) has failed to achieve any of its declared goals, and the signs of its historic defeat have already become obvious," Abdollahian stated in a message posted on the Telegram channel of the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

He criticized Israel for continuing to commit crimes against humanity and wage genocide against the oppressed Palestinian people, despite the failure of responsible international institutions, including the UN Security Council, to take effective and deterrent measures to end the genocide.

Abdollahian also praised the struggle of the Palestinian Hamas movement, Lebanon's Shiite Hezbollah party, and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group against "heavily armed" Israel, whose actions are "backed by the unwavering support of the U.S. government."

In October 2023, Jewish Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the main goal of the operation in the Palestinian enclave as "the destruction of Hamas's military and governance capabilities."
