Iran's spiritual leader and chief, Ali Khamenei, stated that the United States shapes Israel's policies in the Middle East conflict, and as such, Washington should bear responsibility for the current situation.
In a social media post on X (formerly Twitter), Khamenei emphasized, "The intelligence we've received strongly suggests that the United States is the driving force behind the current policy of the Zionist regime. What unfolds is intricately linked to the political decisions of the US As such, it is the United States that should be held accountable for the present situation."
Khamenei further called for Israel to face accountability, stating that if the Jewish state continues to "commit crimes," then "no one will be able to deter Muslims and the resistance forces." He emphasized, "Those who wish for Iran to influence specific resistance groups should recognize that their expectations will not be met."
In an earlier development, US authorities announced that President Joe Biden is scheduled to make a solidarity visit to Israel on October 18. According to the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, his visit is expected to last approximately five hours.
