Islamic universities of Russia agreed to expand cooperation with the University of Damascus

The delegation from Syria which included the head of the Ulema Council of the Levant, professor of Damascus University Ramadan Tawfiq al-Bouti and Dean of Shariah faculty of the University Said Badi al-Lyaham visited Tatarstan.

 

 


At the meeting with the mufti of Tatarstan Kamil Samigullin, a member of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia – Islamic world", the parties discussed cooperation in the development of educational programs. Kamil Hazrat told the guests about the accumulated intellectual experience of the Ulema Council of the Republic of Tatarstan and Islamic universities of Tatarstan-the Russian Islamic Institute, Kazan Islamic University and the Bulgarian Islamic Academy. He also expressed hope for the strengthening of cooperation between the Muslim scientific and religious communities of Russia and Syria. According to him, the achievements of the University of Damascus, whose library is one of the richest in the world, including the volume of the digitized manuscript fund, would be useful for the Tatarstan and Russian Ummah.

 

 


A wide range of issues of interaction within the framework of common educational projects was discussed at the meeting of Syrian theologians with the rector of the Bulgarian Islamic Academy Daniyar Abdrakhmanov.

 

 


The parties also discussed the features of the educational process at the Academy and the possibility of joint work to increase the library fund and exchange Arabic manuscripts. Syrian scientists offered their assistance in the formation and purchase of scientific and educational literature.
