Israel launches missile strikes near Damascus

On Monday night Israel Air Force planes launched missile strikes on the outskirts of Damascus, the SANA news agency quoted a source in the Syrian military command as saying.


According to its information, the anti-aircraft defenses struck several enemy missiles while repelling the attack.
The source said, "Israel carried out an aggression at 23:45 (local time, coincides with Moscow - TASS), firing missiles at Damascus from the airspace over the occupied Golan Heights. - The missiles struck a number of military positions on the outskirts of the capital. There were no casualties, only material damage."


The last time the Israeli Air Force attacked the Syrian capital was on April 4, killing two civilians.


There were also strikes on March 31 in and around Damascus. Two rockets were fired from the airspace above the Golan Heights at Syrian positions. Two soldiers were wounded.


According to the Dubai-based Al-Hadath TV channel, Israel attacked Syrian territory 32 times in 2022. More than 90 ground targets were hit. 89 Syrian servicemen were killed and 121 wounded.
