Israeli Airstrikes in Rafah Kills 63 Palestinians

12 February

The Israel Defense Forces are carrying out airstrikes on the town of Rafah, situated in the southern part of the Gaza Strip near the Egyptian border. As reported by Al Jazeera, at least 63 Palestinians were killed.

Al Jazeera's coverage revealed that following the Israeli air strikes, which targeted both residential areas and places of worship such as Al-Huda and Al-Rahma mosques, the remains of  63 deceased were discovered amid the wreckage. The assault has left numerous individuals injured, including a significant number of children.

The Palestinian Red Crescent has confirmed that Israeli Air Force aircraft are continuing to bombard structures in close proximity to the Al-Amal Medical Center and the organization's main office.

The escalation in the Middle East began following the infiltration of Hamas fighters from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory on October  7,  2023. In response, Israel imposed a full blockade on Gaza and launched strikes against the Strip, as well as parts of Lebanon and Syria, before initiating a ground operation in the enclave. Clashes are also occurring in the West Bank.
