Cooperation with the Russian Federation has a special place in the foreign policy of Kyrgyzstan, the head of the republic, Sadyr Japarov, wrote in his article "Allied ties" about relations between the two countries.

"The course to bring relations with Russia to the highest level of alliance and strategic partnership meets Kyrgyzstan's national interests. We are convinced that there is no alternative to strengthening cooperation, and this direction has a key place in the foreign policy of the republic," Japarov's press service quotes the article as saying.

According to the President, "in the history of relations between the Kyrgyz and Russian peoples, there have never been any problems that could create prerequisites for mutual alienation."

"I want to especially note that for Kyrgyzstan, the question of Russia's place and the role is not theoretical, but quite practical in nature. The interest in close cooperation is largely determined by our national interests. They, as you know, are associated with the further strengthening of state sovereignty of the Kyrgyz Republic, ensuring security, preservation of interethnic peace and harmony, and stimulation of development of spiritual and humanitarian spheres in the country," he stressed.

According to the Kyrgyz leader, "thanks to the integration projects and its power, Russia is ensuring peace along the perimeter of the state border and is forming a dynamically developing region around itself".

He expressed confidence that his upcoming visit to Russia "will help strengthen relations between the countries and develop cooperation in all spheres of mutual interest".
