The representative of the Tourism Authority of Jordan in Russia and the CIS Majd Abu Arkoub explained that the arrival of Russian tourists in this Middle Eastern country depends on the agreement of mutual protocols of epidemiological safety by the authorities of both countries, TourDom.ru reports.

"Now there is intensive work with our Russian colleagues, and as soon as it is completed, we can count on the resumption of flights," he said. - "Since in the last month and a half the situation with COVID-19 has improved significantly, active vaccination has begun, and more than 40,000 Jordanians have already been vaccinated, I think it will happen quite soon."

Majd Abu Arkoub added that all hotels in the country are open and Aqaba airport is ready to welcome guests. "Many charter flights used to come there, we will be glad to receive them again and we are looking forward to it," he added.

Now, according to the expert, to come to Jordan, foreigners need only provide negative results of PCR test for coronavirus, made no later than 72 hours before departure. They will also need to take a test on arrival, which costs $40 (about three thousand rubles).

For now, however, it is only possible to get to Amman or Aqaba from Russia with connections, for example, via Istanbul. "Some Russians are already coming, so far only via Turkey. We are expecting guests from your country, as there are many requests for the spring, mainly for treatment and sightseeing programs, but not everyone wants to fly with a layover," explained an employee of the travel agency.

Travel agents also believe that there will be a demand for trips to Jordan, albeit limited.
