The authorities of Kazakhstan are ready to continue joint work with Russia in the development of fields and identify new areas of cooperation. This was reported on Thursday by the press service of the government of the republic following a meeting between Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov and Chairman of the Committee of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs on Energy Policy and Energy Efficiency Vagit Alekperov.
"The parties discussed the implementation of joint projects in terms of geological exploration and oil field development, as well as modernization of drilling rigs, logistics and taxation. Alikhan Smailov emphasized that the government of Kazakhstan is ready to continue joint work and identify new possible areas of cooperation," the report says.
In turn, Alekperov noted an interest in further expanding investment in Kazakhstan and the development of new projects.
