The defense ministry of Kazakhstan has not received a request to send soldiers to Ukraine and such a question is not on the agenda. This is stated in an official comment of the ministry published on Friday on the day before the regular meeting of the Military Committee of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

"The request to send Kazakh servicemen to Ukraine or any other country has not been received and therefore is not being considered," the statement reads.

It also notes that the issue of sending its contingents to participate in any operation has not been placed on the agenda of a meeting of the CSTO Military Committee. "The defense ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan has repeatedly given explanations regarding the algorithm of actions to send a military contingent of the Republic of Kazakhstan to fulfill international obligations to maintain peace and security, including within the CSTO," the ministry noted, citing relevant provisions from the treaty on collective security.

In addition, the press service of the republic's defense ministry explained that the decision to send a military contingent of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan to fulfill international obligations to maintain peace and security is taken by parliament on the basis of a proposal of the president of the country.
