Kazakh authorities plan to open a permanent representative office of the republic to the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Moscow. This is stated in the draft decree of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, posted on Tuesday in the database of open normative legal acts.
"I hereby resolve to open a permanent representation of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the CSTO in Moscow (Russian Federation)," reads the draft document, which is under public discussion until February 15.
An explanatory note to the decree says it is designed to bring the status of Kazakhstan's plenipotentiary representative to the organization's Permanent Council in accordance with the CSTO regulatory legal framework and the republic's legislation in the field of diplomatic service.
The CSTO members include Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
