Kazakhstan is closely observing developments in Russia’s IT sector and is open to sharing its expertise, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Russia, Dauren Abayev, stated at the 2nd International Caspian Digital Forum.
“As a close neighbor and partner, Kazakhstan is pleased to see Russia’s successes in IT. We are, of course, following these advancements closely and are ready to exchange our experience,” he said.
Abayev highlighted Kazakhstan’s achievements in the IT sector, noting significant growth in IT companies and startups, with many gaining international recognition and investment. “Our country’s accomplishments are reflected in global rankings. Kazakhstan ranks 24th in the UN’s e-Government Development Index out of 193 countries worldwide,” he added.
The ambassador also discussed opportunities for enhancing digital infrastructure along the North-South Transport Corridor. “There is a western route through Dagestan, Azerbaijan, and Iran, and an eastern route through Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan into Iran. Ultimately, aligning these routes as complementary rather than competitive corridors will serve the common good,” he remarked.
The 2nd International Caspian Digital Forum, held from October 31 to November 1 in Kaspiysk, Dagestan, is organized by Russia’s Ministry of Digital Development and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government of Dagestan, and Digital Forums LLC, with support from ANO Digital Economy.
