Kazakhstan told about the preparation for the next round of inter-Syrian talks

All parties have confirmed their participation in inter-Syrian negotiations scheduled on August 1-2 in Nur-Sultan.

 

 


"Currently, preparations, coordinated by the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs, are under way for the next 13th round of the international high-level meeting on Syria, which is scheduled on August 1-2 in Nur Sultan. At the moment, all previously invited parties have confirmed their participation," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan stated.

 

 


The Russian delegation will be headed by the Russian Presidential Special Representative for Syria Alexander Lavrentiev, Turkish delegation is headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Sedat Onal, Iranian by Senior assistant in special political affairs to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali-Asghar Khaji.

 

 


In addition, the meeting will be attended by both sides of the Syrian conflict  – a government delegation led by the permanent representative of the Syrian Arab Republic to the UN Bashar Jaafari and the armed opposition led by Ahmad  Tu'mah.

 

 


For the first time, the delegations of Iraq and Lebanon will participate in the negotiations as observers.
