Kazakhstanis and Diplomatic Corps Show Support for Russia after Terrorist Attack

The consulate general of the Russian Federation in Almaty expressed its gratitude to the people of Kazakhstan and members of the diplomatic corps for their active support of Russians in the wake of the recent terrorist attack in the Moscow region.

 

"We sincerely thank everyone who did not stand aside and shared this pain with us," the diplomatic mission said in a statement. It highlighted that in the book of condolences opened by the consulate general, there were "messages of grief and support" for the Russian people from representatives of the republic's authorities, heads and members of the consular corps, international organizations, public and veterans' associations, and compatriots.

 

For two days, a steady stream of people from Almaty visited the consulate general to pay their respects and sign the book of condolences. Many laid flowers at the site and left heartfelt messages, demonstrating their sympathy and support for the victims and their families.

 

In addition, the head of the orthodox church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan of Astana and Kazakhstan Alexander, conducted a requiem liturgy for the victims of the terrorist attack.
