Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Russia awarded Lavrov with Barys Order

Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Russia Yermek Kusherbayev awarded Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov with the state award of the Republic - the Order Barys (Bars) of the first degree. This is stated in a message posted on the website of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Russia on Thursday following the traditional annual meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia of extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors of CIS countries.


"During the meeting, on behalf of the leadership of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Yermek Kusherbayev honored Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov with the state award of the 1st degree Order Barys. The awarding of Sergey Lavrov is a recognition of his weighty contribution to the development of multifaceted cooperation and strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Russia," the report says.


The Decree on rewarding Lavrov was signed by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on March 21, 2020.


The Order of Barys is awarded for special merits in strengthening the statehood and sovereignty of Kazakhstan, in ensuring peace, consolidation of society and unity of the people of Kazakhstan, in state, industrial, scientific, socio-cultural and public activities, in strengthening cooperation between peoples, the rapprochement and mutual enrichment of national cultures, friendly relations between states. The Order has three degrees. The First Degree Order of Barys consists of a star and a badge on a shoulder strap.
