Kazakhstan's President Congratulates Citizens on Ramadan

11 March

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has extended his heartfelt congratulations to his fellow citizens on the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan, emphasizing its profound significance to the people of Kazakhstan. This message was conveyed through the press office of the president.

"I extend my warmest congratulations to you on the beginning of Ramadan, a month that holds immense significance for our nation. As we observe the holy fast of Oraz, virtues such as kindness, honesty, mercy, and compassion are brought to the forefront, highlighting the unity and solidarity that defines our Muslim community," the president's message of greetings states.

Tokayev emphasized the spiritual and moral obligations that Ramadan entails, including spiritual purification, assistance to the needy, and the practice of charity, which are integral to promoting universal ideals. "A nation that cherishes its religious and cultural heritage, where peace and harmony prevail, will overcome any challenges. I am confident that by upholding harmony and mutual understanding, our people will continue to progress on a path of enlightenment," the Kazakh leader asserted.

Ramadan, as observed in the Islamic calendar, is a month dedicated to the purification of both the spirit and the body, marked by strict fasting during daylight hours. This period is a time for believers to engage in prayer, self-reflection, and the cultivation of good deeds, to cease disputes, and to extend compassion towards the less fortunate, through acts of charity.
