Khamenei: The development of nuclear weapons contradicts Islam

30 May 2019

Iran does not intend to develop nuclear weapons because it contradicts to the religious beliefs. It was stated by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

“Some people said that we would develop nuclear weapons but we would never use it! It is false! Because it is a number of useless expanses and the enemy knows that we do not use it,” the Iran’s spiritual leader wrote on his Twitter.

According to Khamenei, Iran has all the technological capabilities to develop nuclear weapons; however they will not do it because of the religious beliefs.

“We will not develop nuclear weapons. Not because of the USA but because we consider them to be forbidden under the Islamic law,” he highlighted.

On May, 8, on the anniversary of the US withdrawal from the nuclear deal, Tehran announced that it suspended the implementation of some of the provisions of the agreement related to the uranium enrichment and water weighing.
