Khusnullin: Russia-OIC Interaction at Partnership Level

05 March

Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin has announced that the interaction between Russia and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries has reached the level of partnership relations. This statement was made during a meeting of the leadership of the Group of Strategic Vision (GSV) "Russia - Islamic World" with the accredited in Moscow ambassadors of the member states of the OIC.

Khusnullin highlighted that the annual meeting with the ambassadors of the OIC member states has become a part of the practice of the GSV "Russia - Islamic World". He noted that the interaction between Russia and the OIC countries has evolved into a partnership, which is particularly significant given the support from Islamic countries for Russia's policy of preserving traditional spiritual and moral values, especially in the face of Western hostility.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the development of economic ties between Russia and Islamic countries, pointing to the constantly growing volumes of mutual trade turnover. He mentioned the annual International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum" as an effective platform for trust-building contacts between Russia and its Islamic world partners. The next forum is scheduled to be held in Kazan in May this year, and Khusnullin invited representatives of the OIC member countries to attend.
