The Kremlin continues to analyze Washington's plan for a Palestinian-Israeli settlement, known as the "deal of the century", Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said.
According to him, "so far it can be stated that the plan received full support from Israel, was supported by a number of other states, but met with rejection from the direct participant of the so-called deal, the Palestinians".
"We continue to analyze the situation. As you know, Russia continues to be a responsible member of the Middle East five. If necessary, Russia is ready to continue to make every effort and do everything possible to achieve a viable peace in the Middle East", the Kremlin official concluded.
The details of the "deal of the century" the United States released the day before. The plan includes, among other things, the creation of an independent Palestinian state. At the same time, Israeli settlements in the West Bank of the Jordan river are being transferred to Israel.
