After the incident in Syrian Idlib, Russian and Turkish presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan did not hold a telephone conversation. It can be quickly arranged upon the leaders' request. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

«First of all, The Russian and Turkish military are in constant contact. Second of all, there wasn't a high-level conversation yet, but no doubt that if presidents deem it necessary, it can be agreed upon as soon as possible. Third of all, Necessary explanations have been given in the Russian Defense Ministry in connection with the situation in Idlib", quotes the press secretary of the Russian President RIA Novosti.

Earlier, the Turkish Defense Ministry reported the death of four Turkish soldiers in clashes with the Syrian government army in Idlib. Nine other members of the Turkish army were injured. Erdogan said that "attacks from the SAR army" would not be left unanswered.
