Russia's latest agreement with Saudi Arabia and other oil-producing countries to reduce oil production is a common victory, Press-Secretary Dmitry Peskov told "AiF".
"It was a common victory. Because it is in the interests of all countries - both those who produce oil and those who consume it, strange as it may seem," he said, in particular.
The OPEC+ countries managed to reach agreements on reducing world oil production by about 13% in mid-April. Participants of the Association agreed to reduce oil production in May-June by 9.7 million barrels per day. The agreement will come into force on May 1.
Earlier today, it became known that the Saudi Aramco company began to reduce production, ahead of the agreement. Kuwait, Algeria and Nigeria also announced their intention to implement the agreement ahead of schedule, which should reduce the current imbalance between supply and demand in the market.
