Kremlin: the upcoming meeting of the Presidents of Russia and Turkey will not be easy

02 March 2020

The upcoming meeting between Russian and Turkish Presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan will not be easy, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told  Russia-1.

"This will certainly be a difficult meeting, but the heads of states confirm their focus on resolving the situation in Idlib and their commitment to the Sochi agreements. This is important", - he said, in particular.

At the meeting, according to Peskov, "first of all, it will probably be necessary to compare points of view on how the Sochi agreements are being implemented, and what obligations each country has previously assumed should be fulfilled".

Earlier it was reported that the meeting of Putin and Erdogan would be held in Moscow on March 5 or 6.
