Kuwait's Crown Prince Meshal al-Ahmad al-Sabah swore in the country's new government, the local KUNA news agency reported on Monday.
According to its reports, the crown prince received members of the new cabinet and the country's prime minister, Ahmad Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Sabah. After the government was sworn in, Meshal al-Ahmad addressed its members, during which he conveyed congratulations from the Emir of Kuwait, Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah.
"You are facing significant tasks today that are of particular importance," the agency quoted the crown prince as saying. - "Each of you in your position must work to expedite issues that are a priority for both the political leadership and the entire people of Kuwait."
On October 5, the crown prince of Kuwait approved the composition of the new cabinet proposed shortly before by the resigned and newly appointed head of government, Ahmad al-Sabah. This procedure was routine and was related to the elections to the Emirate's National Assembly (parliament).
On October 16, the emir of Kuwait issued a decree on the formation of the new government, with minor changes. According to the text of the document, Sheikh Salem Abdullah al-Jaber al-Sabah was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Bader Hamad Yousef al-Mulla was appointed Minister of Oil. These two candidates were not approved in the draft government proposed by the prime minister. The decree came into force as of the date of its signing.
