Kuznetsova declares return of all Russian children from Iraqi prisons

Work on the return of Russian minors from prisons in Iraq has been completed, according to the press service of the Russian children's ombudsman.


"Anna Kuznetsova reported that the work on the return of minors from prisons in Iraq is now officially completed, there is no information that Russian children may still be there," the report said.


Work to identify the location and return to their homeland of underage Russian citizens who were in Iraq and Syria began in the summer of 2017. A total of 274 children were returned to Russia from the zones of armed conflicts in the Middle East: 122 from Iraq and 152 from Syria.
