Kyrgyz leader urges government to create new transport corridors and systems

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov urged the Kyrgyz government to work more actively on creation of new logistics corridors and transport systems, including international ones.

"In the conditions of global changes and shift of the world economic center to the east, the development of new logistic corridors and creation of transport systems providing full-fledged transport communication is in the foreground. Kyrgyzstan is now in an advantageous position. The creation of railway and air infrastructure will be strengthened," he said at a cabinet meeting on Thursday.

According to him, the Kyrgyz economy is quite closely integrated into international processes, which is reflected in the speed of the country's development. The level of the country's involvement in the global economy, Zhaparov continued, is also evidenced by Kyrgyzstan's participation in the Eurasian Economic Union. "This is another large organization, which occupies an important place in the world, with which we are connected. Our membership in this organization once again confirms that our country is closely connected to the world economy," he is convinced.

The president also called on all political forces of the republic to pay more attention to issues of economic development. "I think that all political games are over. This year is not a year of political games, but a year of economy," he stressed.
