Kyrgyz Prime Minister Set to Attend EEU Intergovernmental Council Meeting

Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov is scheduled to participate in the forthcoming Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting in Almaty on February 1-2. During this event, he will also meet with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. This information was provided by the press service of the Kyrgyz cabinet of ministers.

 

According to the press release, Zhaparov will embark on a working visit to Almaty, Kazakhstan, from February 1-2 this year. As part of his visit, he will attend the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council (EIGC) meeting and the international digital forum "Digital Almaty 2024: Industry X".

 

During the EIGC meeting, the heads of government from the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union will address issues related to trade and economic cooperation, as well as "technical regulation, integrated information system of the union, and other pertinent topics."

 

Furthermore, the visit will encompass several bilateral meetings, including one with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov. These meetings will cover "topical issues of multifaceted cooperation" and the execution of agreements in various significant areas.

 

In Almaty, Zhaparov plans to participate in the plenary session of the annual Digital Almaty digital forum. The event is expected to attract prominent international and public figures, heads of major IT companies, and business leaders.
