The authorities of Kyrgyzstan asked Russia to create conditions to facilitate the procedure of medical examination of migrant workers from the countries - members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the Kyrgyz MFA announced on Friday.
"A note from the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Russia has been sent to the Russian Foreign Ministry with a request to assist in opening a separate corridor for citizens of EEU member states in authorized Russian institutions for medical examination, fingerprint registration and photographing, including at the Sakharovo migration center," the statement said.
As the ministry of foreign affairs reminded, last December, amendments to legislation, providing for changes in the conditions of stay in the country of foreign migrant workers, came into force in Russia.
"New migration rules were introduced in Russia, providing for foreign nationals, including citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, to undergo a medical examination, as well as fingerprint registration and photographing," the ministry explained.
After the entry into force of the amendments in Russia, the Kyrgyz side has repeatedly drawn the attention of the Russian MFA to the "problems and difficulties" encountered by Kyrgyz citizens in passing the new procedures. The Kyrgyz embassy also informed the Russian interior ministry about the "problematic cases" associated with the innovation and preventing "the legal stay of Kyrgyz citizens in Russia.
"The foreign ministry and the embassy continue continuous work with the Russian side to regulate and simplify the procedures of medical examination and dactyloscopy, in accordance with Russian legislation," the report stresses.
