Kyrgyzstan expresses interest in receiving the coronavirus vaccine developed in Russia. Talant Mamytov, Acting President and Speaker of the Kyrgyz parliament, said this on Friday in Bishkek during an online meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS member states.

"We are interested in receiving the Russian vaccine against the coronavirus," he said.

Mamytov congratulated the Russian Federation and Russian President Vladimir Putin on the "timely development of several coronavirus vaccines" and expressed hope that the drugs would soon become available to residents of other countries.

According to Mamytov, thanks to joint actions, the CIS countries have been able to "successfully confront modern challenges and threats, one of which is the pandemic of coronavirus infection. "I would like to express my gratitude to Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan for their support to the republic in combating the spread of the coronavirus," he said.

The consequences of the pandemic were the most "difficult test for the economies of all countries, including the CIS, in decades," Mamytov said. In this regard, to overcome the crisis, the acting president called on the CIS partners "to jointly eliminate the consequences of the pandemic by intensifying trade and improving the situation with the movement of workers in the Commonwealth".

"Under the conditions of closed borders, we also need the practice of green corridors on the borders, which will allow to promptly deliver the population essential products, medicines and medical equipment," Mamytov stressed.
