"At our meeting with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, I offered the Russian side to open a repair base in the town of Balykchy (Issyk-Kul region)," he said. The Russian side agreed to this proposal, and a ceremony of opening the facility will be held on October 10.

According to him, the base will also be able to repair armored vehicles. The minister assures that 260 million soms worth of different equipment (about $3.2 million) has already been delivered to Kyrgyzstan for this purpose.

"All this is carried out within the framework of military-technical assistance from Russia," he said. Among other things, it is planned to assemble GAZ-66 armored vehicles for military use.

According to Bekbolotov, Russia will supply spare parts for tanks and infantry fighting vehicles worth $20 million, which will be delivered to Kyrgyzstan by November 20 of this year.
