The Arab League (formally the League of Arab States) sharply criticized the statement of Moldovan authorities on the intention to transfer its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
The actions of official Chisinau, as noted in the statement of the pan-Arab organization, are qualified as a flagrant violation of international law and resolutions of the UN Security Council by the Arab League.
“This is direct threat to the Palestinian people. We urge the Moldovan government to reconsider its decision, which will adversely affect both the international legal system and relations with the Arab world”, - the statement of the Arab League quoted by media assets.
The decision to transfer the embassy of the Moldovan government made by the Prime Minister and Acting President Pavel Philip announced on 11 June.
