Lavrentiev Warns of Attempts to Draw Syria into Middle Eastern Conflict

14 November

The Middle Eastern situation is worsening as Syria faces increasing pressure to become involved in a broader regional conflict, according to Alexander Lavrentiev, Russian Presidential Special Representative for Syria.

“Unfortunately, we are witnessing the escalating Middle Eastern conflict. There has been an exchange of strikes between Israel and Iran, and there are attempts to drag Syria into armed confrontation,” Lavrentiev stated in an interview with TASS.

He emphasized that the primary goal now is to prevent Syria from being pulled into the ongoing Middle Eastern conflict.
