Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Secretary-General of the of Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit have expressed their mutual interest in convening the sixth ministerial session of the Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum. This statement was made during their meeting on the sidelines of the 78th UN General Assembly, as stated in an official statement published on the Russian Foreign Ministry's website.
During their discussion, both sides emphasized the significance of enhancing cooperation between Russia and the Arab League. They underscored the importance of this cooperation in addressing crisis situations in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as in bolstering security and stability within the region. In light of these shared objectives, the commitment to holding the sixth ministerial session of the Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum, in accordance with previous agreements, was reiterated.
