Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov discussed by phone on Tuesday upcoming high-level contacts and activities of a trilateral working group to unblock economic and transport ties in Nagorno-Karabakh.
"The Foreign Ministers discussed topical issues of bilateral relations, including upcoming high-level contacts," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement. - "An exchange of views was held on the implementation of the agreements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia of November 9, 2020, and January 11, 2021, including the activities of a trilateral working group co-chaired by the deputy prime ministers of the three countries to unblock economic and transport ties in the region."
Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a joint statement on November 9 on the full cessation of hostilities in Karabakh. On January 11, Putin, Aliyev and Pashinyan agreed to establish a working group at the level of deputy prime ministers of the three countries, which will focus on the establishment of transport and economic ties in the region.
