On May 14th in Sochi, negotiations will be held between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. The Heads of Diplomacy of the two states have agreed on this yesterday at a meeting on the margins of the Arctic Council, which is being held in Finland.
The preparation of the meeting in an interview for TASS was confirmed by the Official Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova.
“In connection with the reports in the media about possible dates for negotiations between Lavrov and Pompeo, I would like to clarify that we are talking about the upcoming meeting on May 14th in Sochi”, she mentioned in particular.
It is alleged that the central topic of discussion of Lavrov and Pompeo in Finland was the situation in Venezuela. Furthermore, we are talking about situations in Syria, Ukraine and other topical issues on the international agenda, including the development of relations between Russia and the United States.
