On the margins of the Arctic Council meeting in Rovaniemi, a meeting was held between the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov and the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
The Heads of Diplomacy have discussed the most pressing issues on the international agenda. For example, they talked about the situation in Venezuela, Ukraine, Syria, as well as issues of strategic stability and bilateral relations between the United States and Russia.
Commenting on the results of the talks at a press conference, Sergey Lavrov has mentioned that the conversation was “good and constructive”.
“We reviewed a number of regional situations that are on the current agenda of the UN,” the Minister emphasized.
