Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov briefed Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on the course of Russia's special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine.
"At the request of our Egyptian partners, we provided detailed information on the events related to the special military operation in Ukraine," the Russian foreign minister said Tuesday at a press conference following talks in Moscow with his Egyptian counterpart.
"[We provided information] on those long years of sabotaging the Minsk agreements, which preceded the current situation and which were actively used by the Ukrainian regime and the Western countries that have been nurturing this regime in order to prepare a war against the Russian Federation, as the signatories of the Minsk agreements - former Ukrainian President [Petro] Poroshenko and former German and French leaders Ms. [Angela] Merkel and Mr. [Francois] Hollande - have now openly admitted," Lavrov noted.
