Lavrov: CIS countries are not immune to US attempts to interfere in their internal affairs

None of the CIS states is immune to attempts by Washington to interfere in their internal affairs, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday at a meeting of heads of security and intelligence agencies of Commonwealth member states in Moscow.

"The West's irresponsible line in the Eurasian space is not limited to Ukraine. We remember the attempt to implement a scenario of color revolution in Belarus two years ago," he said. - "The wise people of this close to us, brotherly Belarus, did not let themselves be fooled. But obviously, no CIS state is immune from this kind of interference in internal affairs."

According to Lavrov, this is clearly visible "by the brazen actions" of the United States, NATO, and the European Union in Central Asia and the South Caucasus.

He also noted that the European Union has completely lost its ambitions for strategic autonomy and suffers losses from US-imposed policies. "By pursuing their thoughtless course to 'abolish' Russia, the Anglo-Saxons have achieved unconditional subordination of the entire collective West, including NATO, as well as the EU, which has finally lost its ambitions for strategic autonomy and is suffering enormous losses from the policies in which it has been dragged by the United States," he said.
